The Deciso RZ variety was bred in 1961 and played a key role in the breeding of lettuces suitable for year-round production. It was intended for cultivation in both protected and open field conditions.
Currently, the variety is more often mentioned in specialized phytopathological studies as a standard specimen used for testing plant resistance to downy mildew Bremia lactucae.
