The variety belongs to the Oakleaf type. The plant forms a dense, easy-to-clean rosette and a flat-rounded head of medium-sized, finely curled leaves. The variety retains its marketable appearance for a long period in the field and does not become excessively large during the summer period.
Lenir is an all-season variety suitable for cultivation in open field. The plant possesses high resistance to downy mildew races Bl:29–41EU, currant-lettuce aphid Nr:0, and mirafiori lettuce virus, as well as intermediate resistance to lettuce mosaic virus LMV:1. The variety is characterized by high tolerance to bolting and internal tip burn.
