The variety belongs to the butterhead lettuce type. The plant forms large leaf rosettes, and young plants have an attractive appearance.

Lidetta possesses resistance to aphids (Nasonovia ribisnigri, Nr:0) and downy mildew (Bremia lactucae, races Bl:16-26, 28-30, 32-35EU). Resistance to lettuce mosaic virus (LMV:1) and tomato bushy stunt virus (TBSV) has also been noted.
