The plant forms a large voluminous head with a wide, rounded shape. The leaves have a shiny surface and a light green shade.
The variety is suitable for cultivation throughout the entire season. Sowing under glass or in greenhouses is conducted from February, and in open field from March to August. The plant is suitable for both open field and plastic greenhouses.
Mafalda possesses high resistance to bolting, marginal leaf burn, and downy mildew. The variety shows resistance to the lettuce aphid (Nasonovia ribisnigri) and is tolerant to a number of viral diseases.
