The variety belongs to the red leaf lettuce group of the "Lollo Rosso" type. It was obtained as a result of breeding work to change the intensity of anthocyanin coloration and is characterized by the presence of two genes controlling the level of anthocyanin accumulation.
In scientific research, the variety is used to evaluate the influence of genetic factors and growing conditions on pigmentation and leaf quality. Experiments using transgenic lines of this variety have also been conducted to study physiological characteristics, including cell wall strength and shelf life.
