The variety forms a dense and voluminous head of oblong leaves with prominent veins. At low temperatures, light anthocyanin shades may appear on the leaves. The leaves are noted for their crunchy texture and contain high levels of chlorophyll, carotenoids, and ascorbic acid.
The plant is intended for cultivation in open field and protected conditions, exhibits cold tolerance and is undemanding in care. Suitable for fresh consumption. In some cases, variations of the variety with differences in seed color may be encountered.
