Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was obtained as a result of breeding work with local Greek landraces, aimed at developing high-yielding pure lines. The crop is used for food and also serves as an object of research in the context of organic farming.

The variety demonstrates variable yield depending on growing conditions, including soil type and climatic zone. It is characterized by quality seed indicators, including thousand seed weight, which can exceed that of a number of other varieties, and it also contains phytochemical compounds, such as phenolic acids.

In agronomic research, the variety is considered in terms of resistance to pests, in particular to Bruchus spp., and the ability to adapt to various environmental stress conditions, including cool or high-altitude climates.
