Variety description

The variety 'BLULE1801' is a compact, rounded shrub with a height of 0.4–0.6 m at ten years of age. The plant has leathery, glossy leaves that have a bronze hue in spring, turn dark reddish-brown at the end of summer, and acquire an intense wine-red color in winter.
Flowering occurs in April-May with small white bell-shaped flowers. The shrub prefers moist, acidic, well-drained soils, requires protection from strong winds, and does not tolerate calcareous substrates or drought. The plant is winter-hardy and suitable for borders, rock gardens, and container gardening.
