Variety description

The plant is distinguished by a dense and compact habit, reaching a height of 1.5 m by 10 years of age. Compared to the original species, 'Josalig 1' grows twice as slowly. The leaves are dark green in color, thick and dense to the touch, with a semi-evergreen foliage type.
Flowering occurs in June-July with creamy-white fragrant flowers in paniculate inflorescences, after which purple-black berries may appear. The variety is suitable for creating hedges, group plantings, and container cultivation. Maintenance requires fewer prunings compared to the wild species.
The variety possesses good winter hardiness in USDA zone 6b, is drought resistant, and is capable of growing on various types of soils, including calcareous ones.
