Donacion lily belongs to the group of Oriental-Trumpet hybrids. The plant forms strong stems 100–120 cm high. Large tubular flowers with a diameter of 20–22 cm have a saturated purple-red color with a darker central vein, lightening towards the petal tips. The petals have a small amount of spotting and weakly expressed papillae.

The variety possesses a sweet, moderate aroma. It belongs to the mid-season flowering group, occurring in July–August. The plant is characterized by resistance to fungal diseases and winter hardiness corresponding to USDA Hardiness Zone 4. Intended for cultivation in open field, mixed borders, containers, and for use as cut flowers.

Well-drained soils are required for cultivation, as heavy soil creates a risk of bulb rot. Due to the large size of the stems and flowers, protection of the plants from strong winds is recommended.
