The 'Donato' variety is an OT-hybrid, obtained as a result of crossing Oriental and Trumpet lilies. The height of the flower stalk is 130–150 cm, reaching 180–205 cm under favorable conditions. The stem is strong, dark green, and densely foliated.
The funnel-shaped flowers, with a diameter of about 25 cm, are directed upward or to the side. The coloration is deep pink with a whitish-greenish throat; petal edges are slightly wavy, nectaries are yellow-green, and pollen is reddish-orange. The flowers have a pronounced fragrance.
The variety belongs to the mid-late flowering group; mass flowering occurs in the second half of July. The period from planting to cutting is 105–107 days. The plant possesses good winter hardiness, characteristic of OT-hybrids, and is distinguished by stem strength.
