The variety was obtained by breeders of the Institute of Natural Fibers as a result of selection work using the pedigree method with genetic material from the institute's collection.

The plant is traditionally classified as fiber flax. The variety is used in experimental research to analyze the influence of agrotechnical practices, including the application of herbicides, on the parameters of technical stem length, yield, and quality of prepared fiber.
