The variety is mentioned in scientific publications as fiber flax. In studies, the fiber content in the straw is 16.55%, and the linolenic acid content in the seeds is at a level of about 18%.
In genetic studies, the Luna variety is characterized by the presence of fixed chromosomal rearrangements, in particular inversions in the third chromosome. Based on the results of genetic marker analysis, the variety is close to oilseed forms of flax.
