AGRICULTURE CANADA RESEARCH
10 August 2026
The variety has a shallow spindle-shaped root system with a large number of lateral roots. The plant stem is thin and round, and the surface is covered with a waxy bloom that protects against moisture evaporation and gives the fiber shine and strength.
At a young age, the flax stem is filled with a pith; as it matures, it becomes hollow. The variety is traditionally cultivated in organic farms in Slovenia.
