Plants of the Marylin variety have average height and blue-colored flowers. The pedigree of the variety includes a combination of the Spartak, Natasja, and Viking lines.

The variety belongs to the mid-early maturity group. It possesses resistance to lodging and high resistance to Fusarium infection, while susceptibility to certain types of fungal stem diseases is noted.

The yield of retted straw and total fiber is estimated as low, while the fiber content in the stem is estimated as medium-high. Seed yield is estimated as medium-high.
