Variety description

10 August 2026

Mikael is a short-stemmed oil flax variety characterized by brown seeds and small petals. The oil content in the seeds varies from 33 to 40 percent; the variety also possesses a specific fatty acid composition.

In agronomic practice, the variety is valued for its plasticity and is frequently used as a source of traits for increasing the 1000 kernel weight. It is actively used in biotechnological experiments, including callus induction, micropropagation, and the creation of genetic diversity through mutagen treatment.
