Variety description

The oil flax variety «Svitlozir» belongs to the white-flowered group. The plant is characterized by improved indicators of boll formation, the number of seeds within them, and seed weight per plant. The thousand kernel weight is 7.0–7.2 g.

The average seed yield in the conditions of the Western Forest-Steppe of Ukraine is about 2.23 t/ha. The optimal seeding rate varies within the range of 5–8 million viable seeds per hectare; recommended sowing dates fall on April 20–25.

The seeds of the variety have high quality and contain polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, and water-soluble polysaccharides. Due to its properties, the product is in demand in the food industry, particularly in baking.
