Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the oilseed direction of use. The seeds have a brown color. In comparative trials, an increased oil content was noted, which exceeded the indicators of other industrial varieties by 2.5%, while seed yield was approximately 10% lower than that of high-yielding analogues.

In addition to oilseed qualities, studies addressed the properties of the straw, where the fiber of the Windermere variety was distinguished by its fineness compared to a number of other varieties. Due to its high agronomic productivity, the variety has been actively used in breeding programs as a parent form for creating new lines, including low-linolenic varieties.
