The Candidame variety, also known by the code IS-TAR 12, is a specialized lawn type of annual ryegrass. It is developed for the temporary establishment of grass cover, soil stabilization, and use as a companion crop ("nurse" crop) in grass mixtures.
The plant has fine, dark green foliage and high shoot density. The variety demonstrates high germination energy, including at low temperatures, and is effective for overseeding on sports fields and park zones where rapid restoration of aesthetic appearance is required.
The variety possesses high resistance to diseases, pests, and frost, as well as increased tolerance to soil salinity and drought. Since Candidame is a strictly annual plant, it does not form long-term turf and gives way to the primary perennial grass species in the spring.
