The plant has a high degree of resistance to rust and lodging. It is characterized by rapid regrowth in spring and after mowing, adapted to cultivation on various soil types.
Used for forage purposes for the production of silage, green fodder, and the creation of pastures. Applied as a main or catch crop, often in grass mixtures with clover or other species of ryegrass.
