The Daxus variety belongs to the annual ryegrass type and is classified as a variety of Italian ryegrass. The plant was bred by selectors based on local populations selected in Switzerland to ensure high productivity.
This variety is used exclusively for forage purposes. During field trials, the variety was evaluated for yield, rooting intensity, and resistance to various diseases, in particular to bacterial wilt of cereals.
