The variety is a diploid Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum 2x). Literature also contains information on its classification as a hybrid ryegrass (Lolium × hybridum), which indicates the potential use of the material in breeding work with hybrid forms.
The plant is used in intensive forage production systems, often in mixtures for silage production. In scientific programs, the variety was used to study the genetics of winter hardiness through the introgression of meadow fescue genes.
