The variety is an annual or biennial bunch-type plant, distinguished by rapid seed germination and the formation of long spikes. The crop adapts to fresh and calcareous soils, however, it shows low resistance to drought and high summer temperatures.

The plant possesses resistance to rust and frost. The variety is highly productive, the yield of green mass is 25–30 tons per hectare, with the produce characterized by high protein content and easy digestibility. Usually provides two cuts, the first of which is the most abundant.
