The Kolibri variety is included in official lists of agricultural plants, in particular in the registers of Hungary, as Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum). The variety is classified as a forage crop.

In open publications, there are no detailed morphological descriptions of this variety. The name Kolibri is often used in trade to designate lawn grass mixtures or varieties of other crops that do not belong to the registered breeding achievement of Italian ryegrass.
