The Roberta variety is a bunch-type forage grass. In official registers, it is classified as a tetraploid form of Italian ryegrass. The plant is characterized by a rapid rate of growth, development, and the ability to quickly form ground cover in the year of sowing.

The purpose of the variety is the production of hay and green fodder, as well as use in grass mixtures or for the creation of temporary pastures. The crop is responsive to fertilization and irrigation and provides fodder with a protein content of about 12%.
