The variety was developed within breeding programs using genetic material from the Po River valley region. The main goals of breeding were to improve the quality indicators of forage mass, increase the regrowth rate, and productivity in the autumn period.

The plant is intended for use as a forage crop. The variety is distinguished by high digestibility of stems and increased content of water-soluble carbohydrates, which makes it in demand for ensuring the productivity of dairy cattle. In scientific literature, the variety is often cited as a reference for conducting field trials and genetic studies.
