The Ulrik variety belongs to the species Lolium multiflorum Lam. and the Westerwold ryegrass variety (Lolium multiflorum var. westerwoldicum). During field trials, the variety was evaluated for first-cut yield, total yield, dry matter content, and feed digestibility.

The plant is fast-growing and possesses high regrowth vigor. The variety is intended for agricultural use as a forage crop, as well as a catch crop to improve soil structure and prevent erosion.
