The Uva variety is a product of the Latvian breeding school; its preservation and study are managed by the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics (AREI). In agronomic publications, the variety is considered as a specimen of the species Lolium multiflorum, intended for the production of green mass, hay, or silage.
In scientific research, the variety is used to evaluate adaptability and forage value under regional conditions. Detailed morphological descriptors and productivity indicators are presented to a limited extent in open-access publications.
