The variety is tetraploid and is distinguished by an early maturity group compared to a number of other varieties. It is characterized by high dry matter yield both at the first cut and for the year as a whole, and also possesses high forage quality and good palatability.
The plant possesses excellent resistance to crown rust and demonstrates good tolerance to heat and drought. The variety is used as a component of grass mixtures for the creation of high-yielding pastures and the harvesting of silage or haylage in intensive livestock systems.
