The variety is tetraploid and belongs to the late-heading group. It possesses forage quality characteristics with a high proportion of potentially digestible substances in the dry matter.

It is used in agricultural production as a forage crop for pasture establishment. It is often used in mixtures with legumes, for example with white clover, to increase the nutritional value of the sward and the efficiency of use by dairy cattle.
