The variety is intended for cultivation in northwestern highland areas under rainfed conditions, and is also suitable for cultivation throughout Greece given irrigation or natural moisture in cool regions.
The development of the variety was carried out as part of a program for selecting local populations with the aim of increasing drought resistance and general productivity in hot and dry climates, where foreign varieties had low performance indicators.
