According to the official classification of the German Federal Plant Variety Office, the Rossimonte variety belongs to the species annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum). Information regarding this variety belonging to the species perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) is erroneous.

Due to differences in the biology of the species, data relating to perennial ryegrass are not applicable to the Rossimonte variety. The variety possesses specific development cycles and intended uses characteristic of annual ryegrass.
