The Galant variety belongs to the group of multi-branching forms of narrow-leafed lupine, which allows the plant to better compete with weeds compared to single-stem types, although this may lead to later maturity.
In scientific studies, the variety was examined as an object for studying nitrogen fixation and interaction with nodule bacteria of the genus Bradyrhizobium. It was also included in genetic research as a source of resistance to Fusariumroot rot (Fusarium avenaceum).
When evaluating product quality, it was established that the alkaloid content level in the variety is unstable and in some test years exceeded the permissible limits established for human food products.
