The variety is low-alkaloid and is characterized by a determinate (self-terminating) growth type. Like other representatives of the species, the variety is susceptible to fungal diseases, including anthracnose and fusarium wilt.
The plant is used as a fodder crop for the production of grain with a high protein content. It is used both in monoculture and in mixtures with cereals; additionally, it is valued as a precursor that contributes to the enrichment of soil with nitrogen and organic matter.
