The variety is a perennial crop; plant height during the flowering period reaches 80–100 cm. The plant is characterized by high winter hardiness, cold tolerance, and the ability to regrow well after mowing.
The variety produces two full cuts of green mass per growing season. The yield of green mass is up to 50 t/ha, and seed yield is 600–800 kg/ha. Flowering begins in the third ten-day period of May; seed harvesting is possible in late July – early August.
The plant is adapted to local soil and climatic conditions; it prefers cohesive sandy loam soils but is also suitable for light sandy soils. It possesses ornamental properties due to its bright purple or blue flowers and attracts pollinating insects.
