The plant forms a neat bush shape with palmate dark green leaves, reaching a height of about 60 cm. The inflorescences are short and thin racemes of a delicate creamy-lemon or buttery shade, which begin blooming at the end of June.
The variety is a hardy perennial that prefers sunny locations or partial shade. It grows well on drained sandy or loamy soils with an acidic or neutral reaction. The plant contains alkaloids and is poisonous if consumed.
