The variety was obtained through selection from the original Lycium barbarum biotype, initially known as “biotype 2” (B2). The goal of the work was to create a table variety with increased yield, adapted to the local pedoclimatic conditions of Romania.

During the selection process, the variety forms were improved compared to the wild material in terms of fruit size, nutritional value, and taste qualities. The variety is oriented toward commercial cultivation of the crop.
