The variety is the result of breeding work to improve local and foreign biotypes of Lycium, conducted since 2015. Unlike species of Lycium barbarum, this variety is classified as Lycium chinense Mill.
The variety was created to obtain a high-quality yield with improved organoleptic properties, fruit size, and nutrient composition, oriented toward the conditions of the southeastern part of Romania.
