The tree of this variety is vigorous and has a bearing habit characterized as regular. The variety was bred as a result of crossing Montgomery and Red Astrachan.
The fruits have white, tender and juicy flesh, with a sweet-and-sour taste with pronounced sweet notes and a hint of strawberry. The fruits ripen approximately a month later than the Red Astrachan variety; the consumption period falls between August and October; the main purpose is fresh consumption.
This variety was used in breeding as a parent form to create hybrids such as Niagara and Redhook.
