The tree has medium vigor and demonstrates resistance to most common diseases and pests. The variety historically originated in the 19th century in the Palmela region.

The fruits have an irregular, slightly flattened shape. The skin is smooth, with a waxy bloom and a characteristic net of russeting originating from the stalk cavity. The stalk is thick and short, often detaching during harvest.

The fruit flesh is white in color, possesses a pleasant aroma and a slight acidity. The apples are intended for fresh consumption and are also used in cooking for baking.
