The variety originates from Denmark, Aarhus, and has been known since 1870. Currently, it is rare and is preserved in the genetic bank collection "The Pometum" of the University of Copenhagen.
The apple fruits are large. The variety is intended primarily for culinary processing, however, the fruits are also suitable for fresh consumption. Genetically, the variety is diploid.
