The Starapi variety is a traditional apple tree preserved in Slovenia as an autochthonous cultivated species. The name of the variety comes from the German Stern (star) and Api (type of apple), which indicates an external feature of the fruits.

The plant is cultivated in environmentally friendly orchards with high biological diversity. The fruits of this variety are versatile and are used both fresh and for processing.
