Variety description

The Starapple1 tree variety has a tendency for branching. Under South African conditions, the flowering period occurs from mid to late September, and fruit ripening occurs at the end of February, one week before the Golden Delicious variety.
The fruits are medium-sized with a diameter of 6.6 to 7.2 cm. The surface of the apples is covered with an intense dark red color over 60–100% of the area. The variety is characterized by resistance to apple scab.
