The tree reaches a height of 4–6 meters and possesses a semi-open, oval to spherical crown with spreading branches. During the growing season, the leaves have a purple-green hue, and in the autumn, they change color to bright red and orange tones.
Flowering occurs in the spring, from April to May, with delicate flowers of pink shades. The fruits are small in size, oval in shape, and as they ripen, they acquire a red-purple color, remaining on the branches during the winter period.
The plant is resistant to air pollution and urban conditions, adapting to various soil types provided they have drainage and humus. It is used in landscape design for single and group plantings, serving as a honey plant and a food source for birds.
