The plant is an evergreen shrub with a compact habit, capable of climbing if provided with support. The leaves are elliptical in shape with a glossy dark green surface.

The flowers are large, star-shaped, and characterized by a bright red-pink color. The variety is thermophilic and features prolonged flowering, which lasts from late spring until autumn.

The plant contains viscous toxic latex capable of causing skin irritation.
