Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of Monarda didyma and Monarda fistulosa. It is a compact upright bush plant with a height of 30 to 60 cm. Dark green serrated leaves emit a mint-citrus aroma when rubbed; the stems often have a purple or dark red hue.

Numerous capitate inflorescences with a diameter of 5–9 cm consist of tubular bilabiate flowers of a deep raspberry-pink color with a purple center. The flowering period falls between early July and September. The plant possesses high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zone 4.

The variety is suitable for cutting, container gardening, and mixed borders. The leaves contain essential oils, including thymol and carvacrol, and can be used in cooking for preparing tea, while the flowers are suitable for decorating confectionery.
