The plant reaches a height of 30–45 cm. The flowers are solitary, 8–10 cm in diameter, and belong to the small-cupped type, where the size of the cup does not exceed 1/3 of the length of the petals. The perianth segments are white, sometimes with a yellowish tinge when opening; the cup is orange-scarlet, often with a darker rim along the edge.
The variety is early-flowering; the flowering period occurs in April – May and lasts 2–3 weeks. The flower stalks are characterized by strength and resistance to weather conditions. The plant is winter hardy (USDA zone 4a), undemanding, and suitable for group plantings, rock gardens, and naturalization.
