The variety belongs to the 7th group of daffodils, characterized by narrow cylindrical leaves and flower stalks with several fragrant flowers. The flowers of the Chiva variety are upward-facing, have a bright yellow color (RHS 2A and 5A scale), and are about 35 mm in diameter. The perianth segments are broadly ovate, obtuse, with an acute tip, and have a firm texture.

The variety is mid-early. It is used for landscaping urban gardens, patios, containers, rock gardens, and flower borders, as well as for cut flowers. The variety is of English origin; parent forms are unknown. It is important not to confuse this variety with the Ziva narcissus, which belongs to a different botanical group.
