The Bursztynek variety belongs to the group of large-cupped narcissi with the classification code 2 Y-O, which indicates yellow perianth segments and an orange corona. The plant was bred in 1996 by breeders of the Research Institute of Horticulture and Floriculture in Skierniewice.

In scientific research, the variety is used as an object for studying morphological traits, including flower diameter, as well as leaf length and width. The variety is included in collections of ornamental bulbous plants as a representative of Polish breeding; however, detailed agronomic characteristics of the plant are not specified in the publications.
