The variety was created by specialists at the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG-PIB) using methods of transferring resistance genes from wild species of the genus Nicotiana, in particular by crossing Nicotiana tabacum with Nicotiana gossei.
A key feature of the variety is its complex resistance to diseases, including black root rot caused by Berkeleyomyces spp. and potato virus Y (PVY). The variety is intended for commercial cultivation under high infection pressure conditions to reduce the risks of crop loss.
